He first became acquainted with golf. When he received his first driver two years later, he slept with it in his bed for two weeks.
At the age of fifteen, he achieved a surprising third place at the Slovak match play championships, the only players to have beaten him being the Slovak golfing legends Juraj Zvarík and Pišta Páleník.
He won his first Slovak championships at his home course, Black Stork in Veľká Lomnica, this being in match play, beating Peter Valášek in a wonderful final. He defended the title a year later and also won the Slovak Amateur Open.
He played in a Challenge Tour tournament for the first time at Penati. Despite being immensely nervous, he managed the first round in 88 strokes (+16) but managed the second on par.
He first tried the European Tour at the end of August at the D+D REAL Czech Masters, then joining the ranks of the professionals at the end of the year.
When he conquered a few courses in the second round, while participating in the D+D REAL Czech Masters at Albatross for the second time, his golfing life was turned upside down. He gained a massive impulse and found a new appetite for work and training.
